Mountains are famous for its beautiful Scene, Climate, and a good Atmospheres.  Whatever we are looking on mountain is unique and this uniqueness attracts the people to visit the mountain range of the world, especilly Indian Mountain Ranges because here you look the highest Mountain Ranges of the world.  India is surrounded by fantastic Mountain Ranges on all sides i.e., the Himalayan Mountains which highly attractive, Western Ghats and the Aravalli Range to the Eastern Ghats.  Each of these Mountain Ranges have distinctly different scenic beauty, climates and a healthy atmospere and thus they have very unique surprises to the visitors, one who loves Mountains.

The Famous Hill Stations of the World 

Each of these Mountain Ranges have a huge number of famous hill stations that attracts the people from all over the world including Indians. The Hill station like Kashmir, Nainital, Sikkim, Shimla, Dalhousie in the Himalayan Range, Ooty in the Western Ghats, Mount Abu and Udaipur in the Aravalli Hills and Vishakhapatnam in the Eastern Ghats. Shillong sits amidst the Khasi Hills, the misty vally of Coorg to adventure-packed Manali, Darjeeling nortern region of West Bengal. However, especilly for those who do not enjoy travelling to crowded tourist spots. Mountains and Mountain Ranges provide a pleasant happy to stay and enjoy the peaceful life.

The Himalayan Mountain Range Covers 2,400 KM and 6 Countries

The Himalayan Mountain Range spread across the northeastern portion of India and cover approximately 2,400 km and pass through the nations of India, Pakistan, Afghanistan, China, Bhutan and Nepal.  Not surprisingly, the Himalayan Mountain Range is the most well known of the major Mountain Ranges in India. The Himalayan Range is made up of three parallel ranges often referred to as the Greater Himalayas, the Lesser Himalayas, and the Outer Himalayas or Sivalik Hills.

The Himalayan Mountain Ranges - The Place of Penance

The Himalayan Mountain Ranges are where two religions people—Hinduism and Buddhism meet. In some part of the Himalaya Mountain Muslims are also stay. According to the Hindu mythology, Himalaya is the place where saints and sages stay and do the penance to get "Moksha".  The ultimate goal of any individual. Tibetan monks wander here insearch of peace and to know the beauty of the life. The Himalayas also influence the climate in India by preventing cold winds from blowing south. However, there are a number of other major Mountain Ranges that play an important role in India's environment and culture too.
