Celebration of Lord Sri Krishna's - Janmashtami
The birth of Lord Krishna, the eighth "avatar" means the incarnation of Lord Vishnu also called Chaturbhuja the birthday of Lord Krishna is celebrated as Sri Krishna Janmashtami or Gokulashtami every year and it's an annual Hindu festival that celebrate in India and some parts of the World. Sri Krishna Janmashtami celebrates on the eighth day i.e., "Ashtami" of the Krishna Paksha in Shravana Masa, according to the Hindu lunisolar calendar. The date and month are not fixed according to the Gregorian calendar.
Sri Krishna Janmashtami - A Famous Festival of Hinduism
Sri Krishna Janmashtami is important as well as a famous festival of Hinduism, particularly to the Vaishnavas, Madhvas, and Yadavas, but all is celebrating including Shyivas. On this day, everywhere enchantments of the life of Lord Krishna will take place that is Rasa Lila or Krishna Lila, according to the Bhagavata Purana. In Bhagavata Purana, Lord Sri Krishna's birth, His Infant stage, Boyhood stage, His Study and Vivaha i.e., marriage was described very beautifully, the same will sing a song, play drama, and dance it through the Mid-night when Lord Krishna was born to Maa Devaki and King Vasudeva, when they were in "Karagraha" means Jail.
Celebration of Lord Sri Krishna's Janmashtami
On this day, generally, Krishna Bhaktas will play, sing, and dance His Infant Lila. Disguise like Radha-Krishna disguise like "Makkhan Chor" means stealing of butter in Nandgaon also called Gokul finally they will play "Vivaha" with Devi Rukmini, the incarnation of "Maa Laxmi". That day they will keep "Upavasa" means fast on the name of beloved Lord Krishna, a "Ratri Jagaran" means-night vigil and a "Mahotsava" mean a great festival. International Society for Krishna Consciousness(ISKON) Bhaktas will celebrate Lord Sri Krishna's birthday i.e., Krishnashtami very grandly, throughout the World. And ISKON Bhaktas decorates Lord Sri Krishna, Radha-Krishna, Lord Krishna and Devi Rukmini, and Lord Balabhadra(Bala Ram), Devi Subhadra very beautifully. It's very amazing to look.
Almost Whole India Celebrate Sri Krishna Janmashtami
The Krishna Janmashtami is celebrated especially in Mathura the birthplace of Lord Sri Krishna and Vrindavan is the place where Lord Krishna stayed with Radha. And where ever Vaishnava Krishna haktas and non-sectarian communities found in Manipur, Assam, Bihar, West Bengal, Odisha, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Gujarat, Maharashtra, Karnataka, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh Telangana and all other states of India.
Nandotsav - Festival
Krishna Janmashtami is followed by the festival called Nandotsav, which celebrates the occasion when Nanda Baba distributed gifts to the community in the honor of the birth of Lord Krishna. Nanda Baba and Mata Devaki are the parents of Lord Krishna who took His Childhood care at Nandagaon on the bank of "River Yamuna". After the birth of Lord Krishna at Mathura, immediately His father Vasudeva shifted Him at Nandagokula, another side of the river Yamuna according to the advice of "Akashvani".
Krishna being Carried Across the River by Vasudeva Anakadundubhi
Lord Krishna is the eighth son of Mata Devaki and Vasudeva Anakadundubhi, and his birthday is celebrated by Hindus as Krishna Janmashtami, particularly those of the Gaudiya Vaishnavism tradition as He is considered as the Supreme Personality of God Vishnu with "Sampurna Avatar" means a full incarnation of Lord Vishnu with great Virtues as a Godhead. Lord Krishna's birth took place in Mathura nagari, at the mid-night on the eighth day of Shravana Masa, Krishna Paksha.
Lord Krishna's birth is in an area of chaos, where no freedom and evil were everywhere and He was born in "Karagraha" i.e., in Jail, when there was a threat to His life by His uncle King called Kansa the brother of Mata Devaki. Immediately following the birth at Mathura, His father Vasudeva Anakadundubhi takes Krishna across Yamuna, to foster parents in Gokul, named Nanda Baba and Yashoda Mayya.
This day is celebrated as Sri Krishna Janmashtami by people keeping fast and put Him in a cradle. Women draw tiny footprints outside their house doors and kitchen, Lord Krisna walking towards their house. Its a welcome ceremony to Lord Krishna into their Homes. Then the devotees break their fast, by sharing food and sweets.
