History of the  Indian Independence Movement

The United Kingdom traders entered India by holding a "balance" in their hand and started to rule India by replacing "sword" in their hand with their policy of "Divide and Rule".  Beginning, European traders had established their outposts in the Indian subcontinent and started trading by the 17th century. After studying the Indian nature of quarreling for their small internal issues, Britishers started to interfere in the political issues of the Indian Kings through overwhelming military strength, finally, they established the British "East India Company". Then they started playing their pre-planned play with local kingdoms and established themselves as the dominant force by the 18th century. Just because of no unity in Indian kings and the kingdom, all the kingdom started to rule by Britishers. Meanwhile, the British Government introduces "the doctrine of lapse" under this doctrine, if any Indian kingdom doesn't have an heir, then that kingdom is going to rule by the British Government with little subsidy amount. Because of this system of British rule, many Indian Kingdoms started to oppose and did "First Independent War" against the British government in the Indian Subcontinent.  Especially, the queen of "Jhansi" did a great war with the help of "Tatya Tope" and many more freedom fighters such as Mangal Pande.

The British Government Changed The System of Ruling

Following the result of the "First War of Independence of 1857", the British Government changed their system of ruling the Indian Kingdom and introduce the "Government of India Act 1858" led the British Crown i.e., Queen Elezebit to assume the direct control of India. In 1885, the Indian National Congress Party was formed, Because civic society gradually emerged across India. During this period Congress Party started nationwide non-violent movements of non-cooperation and civil disobedience, led by Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi. On another side Vinayak Damodhar Savarkar, Bal Gangadhar Tilak, Dr. Keshv Rao Hedgevar, Lala Lajpat Rai, Bipin Chandra Pal, Dr. Ambedkar, Ram Prasad Bismil, Chandra Sekhar Azad, Bhagat Singh, Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose many more started their revolutionary action against British Rule. Meanwhile, it also witnessed the enactment of the repressive Rowlatt Act and calls for self-rule by Indian revolutionary activists.

26  January Was the Independence Day before Independence of India

At the Lahore session of the Indian National Congress in 1929, the "Purna Swaraj" declaration, or "Declaration of the Independence of India" was openly declared in front of the Indian citizens and 26 January 1930 were declared as "Independence Day of India" at that time.  The Congress and the leading revolutionary leaders of India persuade all the citizens of India "to pledge themselves to civil disobedience" and "to carry out the Congress instructions issued from time to time" until India attained complete independence. This encouragement was worked very seriously and successfully throughout undivided India. Celebration of such an Independence Day on 26 January, between 1930 to 1946 was to bring together all nationalistic fervour among Indian citizens and to force the British government to consider granting independence to Undivided India. Following actual Independence in 15th August 1947 the Constitution of India came into effect on and from 26 January 1950, since then 26 January is celebrated as Republic Day of India.

Jinnah - Responsible for the Partition of Undivided India

Actually Mohamed Ali Jinnah was responsible for the partition of Undivided India. He was a very adamant nature man without any social culture. The jubilation was tempered by the bloody partition of the subcontinent into India and Pakistan.

The Independent Day Celebrates as the "Undivided India Day" or "Akhand Bharat"

In India, most of the Indians celebrate the Independent Day as the "Undivided India Day", because on both sides many people want to unite once again and celebrate the "Akhand Bharat" or "Undivided India".
