Ram Janma Bhoomi(Babri Masjid Site)

According to the Ramayana, a great Hindu Epic, that was since 1st Millenium BCE, Ayodhya was the Capital of Rama i.e., "Ikshwaku Dynasty". And "Ayodhya" was the real birthplace of Lord Rama.  A commander of the Mughal Emperor Babur ruled between 1526 to 1530 called 'Mir Baqi' or Baqi Tashqandi built Babri Masjid or Babri Mosque during the period 1528 and 1529. However, the historical evidence for this incidence was very less and not belief.

Evidences - The Birthplace of Lord Sri Rama

There are a number of subsequent sources state that the mosque was built by demolishing a temple. In 1611, an English traveler William Finch visited Ayodhya and wrote the "ruins of the Ranichand or Ramachand castle, and houses" but not a mosque in his writing. In 1634, Thomas Herbert described a "Pretty old castle of Ranichand or Ramachand" which he described as a beautiful and rare monument that was "Especially Memorable". In 1672, Lal Das, in his 'Awadh-Vilasa' describes the location of the birthplace without mentioning a temple or "castle" but the appearance of a mosque. According to the Moghul Rajput noble Jai Singh II in 1717, purchased land surrounding the site and his documents show the appearance of the mosque. The Jesuit missionary Joseph Tiefenthaler, who visited the site between 1766-1771, according to him both Aurangazeb ruled between 1658 and 1707 or Babur demolished the "Ramkot" and constructed a mosque where Hindus believed that the birthplace of Lord Rama but the Hindus continued to offer prayers at a mud platform that marked the birthplace of Rama.  In 1810, Francis Buchanan visited the "Ayodhya" site, and stated that the structure destroyed was a temple dedicated to Rama, not a house.  But according to Police officer-cum-writer Kishore Kunal states that all the claimed inscriptions on the Babri mosque were fake. Because all the claimed Inscriptions were affixed sometime around 1813 almost 285 years after the supposed construction of the mosque in 1528 AD only, and repeatedly replaced the fact without a solid reason. Before the 1940s, actually the Babri Masjid was calling Masjid-i-Janmasthan means "mosque of the birthplace", according to the revenue official documents. Shaykh Muhammad Azamat Ali Kakorawi Nami a writer lived between 1811–1893 wrote, "the Babari mosque was built up in 923 A.H. under the help of Sayyid Musa Ashiqan in the Janmasthan temple in Faizabad that was also called "Avadh", which was a great place of worship and capital of Rama’s father Dasharat Maharaja of Ayodhya..

Janmasthan Temple "was Destroyed by Babur and Replaced by a Mosque"

H.R. Neville, the editor of the Faizabad District Gazetteer in 1870, wrote that the Janmasthan temple "was destroyed by Babur and replaced by a mosque".  He also wrote "The Janmasthan was in Ramkot and marked the "Birthplace of Lord Rama". In 1528 A.D. Babur came to Ayodhya and stayed here for a week's time. He destroyed the ancient Ram temple and on its place built a mosque, still known as Babur's mosque. The materials of the old structure i.e., the temple were largely employed, and many of the columns were in good preservation."Like this there are a number of different pieces of evidence are mentioned by different writers with irrespective of time.

Andolan of Viswa Hindu Parishad and other Hindu Nationalist Groups

In the 1980s, the Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) and other Hindu nationalist groups and political parties together launched a campaign to construct the Ram Janmabhoomi Mandir at Sri Ram's birthplace as "Rama birthplace temple" at the site in "Ayodhya". Rajiv Gandhi leads Congress The government allowed Hindus to access the site for prayers. On 6 December 1992, Hindu nationalists separated the mosque by the help of a number of "Karsevaks from various parts of India" from where it was. In that incident, many "karsevaks" sacrificed their lives on the name of Lord Sri Rama Chandra.

An Excavation of Archaeological Survey of India

In 2003, the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) conducted an accurate excavation of the site very carefully on the Allahabad High Court orders. The ASI report indicated the presence of a 10th-century north Indian style temple under the mosque with a valuable material of the old structure. Muslim groups and the historians thought that it was politically motivated and dismissed the ASI report. The Allahabad High Court, however, upheld the ASI's findings and report. The excavations by the ASI have highly helped the court and heavily used as evidence by the court that the predating structure was a massive Hindu religious building as a temple.
