Moreshwar at Moregaon
At Moregaon, Lord Ganesha is called Shri Moreshwar or Mayureshwar. Temple Moreshwar is situated at a distance of 60 km from Pune city, near to the Khara River in the Moregaon village, Taluka Baramati in Pune District. It is the most important of all the eight Ashtavinayaka temples and has four gates.

About Moreshwar Ganapati
Moregaon means 'Village of Peacocks', once upon a time there was an abundance of peacock birds in this region and the shape of the village was like a peacock. This region is also known as the Bhuswananda and this is the first Temple to be visited during the Ashtavinayaka Temple Yatra (Pilgrimage).
To slew the demon Sindhu, Lord Ganesha riding a peacock in the form of Mayureshwara and punish
the demon to protect Devagana (all Gods). Lord Moreshwar also has two other murtis of Siddhi (Capability) and Riddhi (Intelligence).
