Guru Nanak Dev and Other Sikh Gurus

Nanakana - Tirth Sthan of Sikh

The Nanakana township was founded by Rai Bhoi, a Muslim and thus was known as Rai-Bhoi-Di-Talwandi. His great-grand-son Rai Bular Bhatti was a great devotee and dedicated follower of Guru Nanak Dev, who was renamed 'Rai-Bhoi-Di-Talwandi' as 'Nankana Sahib' after the birth of Guru Nanak Dev. The Gurdwara Nankana Sahib, originally constructed in around 1600 CE was renovated in 1819–20 CE by the great devotee of Guru Nanak Dev called Gian-Punjab Maharaja Ranjit Singh The Sikh Conference of Punjab, Jammu, and Kashmir, Peshawar, Kangra, and Hazara. Nankana Sahib is the most important religious and pious pilgrim place for all the Sikhs and the Sikh religion because of their first Guru, Guru Dev Nanak was born at Nanakana and Sikh Religion was started here. In other words, we can say, "Nanakana is the Kasi of Sikh Religion" generally what we called "Tirth Sthana" where we will go regularly and pray for peace.  And all Sikhs want to visit 'Nanakana Tirthsthan' at least once in their life. Nanakana is located about 91 km (57 mi) west of Lahore and about 75 km (47 mi) east of Faisalabad.

Gurdwara Janamasthan - Gurdwara Nankana Sahib

Gurdwara Janamasthan is also calling Gurdwara Nankana Sahib, is a highly revered Gurdwara that was built at the site where the founder of Sikhism, Guru Nanak Dev, was born.  The first Gurdwara is built in the 16th century by the grandson of Guru Nanak Dev called Baba Dharam Chand. Then, the current Gurdwara was built by the great devotee of Guru Nanak Dev called Gian-Punjab Maharaja Ranjit Singh in the 19th century. The shrine is located in the city of Nankana Sahib, near the city of Lahore in the Punjab province of Pakistan.  The Gurdwara Janamasthan or Gurdwara Nankana Sahib forms part of an ensemble of nine important Gurdwaras in Nankana Sahib. The shrine is frequently visited by Sikh Yatris as part of a pilgrimage route in Pakistan.

The Gurdwara Janamasthan complex is listed on the Protected Heritage Monuments of the Archaeology Department of Punjab, Pakistan.

Darshan of Nanakana Sahib Gurudwara is Tough - Birthplace of Guru Nanak Dev.

Before the Independence of India, visiting Nanakana Sahib Gurudwara was very easy, and direct access to all Sikhs from the World but after the Independence Undivided India was divided by the few Muslim leaders and makes it India and Pakistan, then it is becoming tough to take the Darshan of Nanakana Sahib Gurudwara which is the birthplace of Guru Nanak Dev.

A Guru with a great Affection

In 2019 after prolonged efforts of the Sikh community, the historical Gurudwara on Nankana Sahib was given direct access to pilgrims via the Kartarpur corridor project. The first batch of Sikh pilgrims arrived in Pakistan on 12 November, the historical occasion of the 550th Gurupurab is the birth anniversary of Guru Nanak Dev, the founding Guru of Sikhism.  Gurupurab is one of the famous festivals of Sikhs.

Guru Nanak Dev - Founder of the Sikhism Religion

Guru Nanak Dev started His preaching at Nanakana and He was the founder of the Sikhism Religion. Guru Nanak Dev taught a message of love and love all serve all.  He always everywhere spoke of a universal God, which is common to all mankind, not limited to any religion, nation, race, creed, color, or gender. The interesting and surprising fact is that Guru Nanak Dev wanders everywhere throughout Asia continent with his disciples and followers.  The Sikh religion is strictly 'Monotheistic', means believing in one and only one God and believing in one supreme Creator, free of gender, absolute, all-pervading, and eternal. Views of the Sikhism about life is a unique opportunity to discover and develop the divinity in each of Human Being.  Human rights and justice form a cornerstone of Sikh belief,  and the History of Sikh, tells a number of examples of Sikh Gurus and their followers making tremendous sacrifices for the cause of religious freedom and justice for a common man.

Guru Nanak Dev - Baba Nanak

Guru Nanak Dev or Nanak was born on 15th April 1469 and become 'Amar' on 22 September 1539, Guru Nanak Dev also called as Baba Nanak means 'Fater Nanak', was the founder of Sikhism, and is the first of ten 'Sikh Gurus' or 'Sikh Guru Parampara'.   Guru Nanak Dev birth day is celebrated worldwide with all People without any caste and creed as 'Guru Nanak Gurpurab' on Katak Pooranmashi i.e., on 'Full-Moon Day of the Katak or Kartik Mass means Month of Kartik according to the Hindu Panchang or Hindu calendar', mostly in the month of October or November, according to the Georgian Calendar.

Message of Guru Nanak Dev 'Ek Omkar' means 'One God'

Guru Nanak Dev is said to have traveled far and wide across Asia teaching the people the message of 'Ek Omkar' means 'One God', Who dwells in every one of His creations and constitutes the eternal Truth?  Guru Nanak Dev proved that the "Life is a unique opportunity to discover and develop the divinity in each of Human Being". With this concept, he would set up a Unique Spiritual, Social, and Political platform based on Equality, Fraternal love, Goodness, and full of Virtue. His words are very simple and approachable and touch to every common man, ultimately all is starting to become His disciples and followers where ever Guru Nanak Devji was went.

Epics of Sikh Religion

Guru Nanak Dev's words are very simple and registered in the form of 974 Poetic Hymns, or Shabda Brahma, (Shabda Brahma is one of the main messages of Vedas) in the holy text of Sikhism, the 'Guru Granth Sahib', with some of the Major Prayers being the 'Japji Sahib' (Jap means 'to recite again and again'; ji and sahib are suffixes signifying respect to the Holy Granth); the 'Asa di Var' ('the ballad of hope'); and the 'Sidh Ghost' ('discussion with the Siddhas'). It is part of Sikh religious belief that the spirit of Nanak's sanctity, divinity, and religious authority had descended upon each of the nine subsequent Gurus when the Guruship or Guru Parampara was "devolved or transferred the Divine Power" on to them.  Guru Granth Sahib is the main epic of Sikhism and always, in all Gurudwara 'Parayana' will take place means it is read continuously by everyone.
