History Behind Akhand Bharat

When the Indian Independence Movement was very strong that time Kanaiyalal Maneklal Munshi advocated for Akhand Hindustan meaning Akhand Bharat with great confidence.  But Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi, didn't have a great vision and confidence about Akhand Hindustan, agreed with, believing that "as Britain wanted to retain her empire by pursuing a policy of divide and rule, Hindu-Muslim unity could not be achieved as long as the British were there".  This his believe become true because of his no strong will power to achieve Akhand Hindustan or Undivided India.

According to Mazhar Ali Khan, a great journalist of Pakistan, wrote, "The Khan brothers, were determined to fight for Akhand Hindustan, and challenged the League to fight the issue out before the electorate of the Province".  Here, Khan Abdul Jabbar Khan and Khan Abdul Ghaffar Khan were the great politicians and freedom fighters of the Indian Independence Movement.  And they were popularly known as Dr. Khan Sahib and Bacha Khan.  Dr. Khan Sahib was the Chief Minister of the North-West Frontier Province and Bacha Khan was the Pashtun independence activist.

As the Chief Minister of the North-West Frontier Province(NWFP), along with his brother Khan Abdul Ghaffar Khan and the Khudai Khidmatgar, Khan Abdul Jabbar Khan strongly opposed the partition of India, favoring a united country that was Akhand Hindustan or undivided India or Akhand Bharat.

After Khan Abdul Jabbar Khan's assassination, then president of Pakistan Iskander Mirza told, that he was "the greatest Pathan of his times, a great leader and a gallant gentleman whose life-long fight in the cause of freedom, his sufferings and sacrifices for the sake of his convictions and his passion to do good to the common man were the attributes of a really great man".

Like Khan brothers, in each and every nation there are few human hearted leaders are there, they know the future of the country but not the future of the leaders like Muhammad Ali Jinnah.  Because of Jinnah, today Pakistan is no where in the World.  On the other side the present Bangladesh, never give importance to the words of Muhammad Ali Jinnah and took its own decision and now world is recognizing Bangladesh as a country.

On 7–8 October, two days Conference took place, in 1944, in Delhi, Radha Kumud Mukherjee presided over the Akhand Hindustan Leaders' Conference. Radha Kumud Mukherjee was an Indian historian and a noted Indian nationalist during the period of British colonial rule.

The Indian Independence Movement activist and Hindu Mahasabah leader called Swatantra Veer Vinayak Damodar Savarkar at the Hindu Mahasabha's 19th Annual Session in Ahmedabad in 1937 declared that the notion of an Akhand Bharat that "must remain one and indivisible" from "from Kashmir to Rameswaram, and from Sindh to Assam."  He also said that the identification of true citizenship of an individual is that "all citizens who owe undivided loyalty and allegiance to the Indian nation and to the Indian state shall be treated with perfect equality and shall share duties and obligations equally in common, irrespective of caste, creed, or religion, and the representation also shall either be on the basis of one man one vote or in proportion to the population in case of separate electorates and public services shall go by merit alone".  This notion was becoming more famous throughout India and everywhere debate and open discussions were started in a revolutionary way.  Thus Swatantra Veer Savarkar was making clear that the identification and the duty of an individual are towards his Nation but not for individual interest.  Because of his great views towards Nation, now all Indians are thinking that he was the real "Bharat Ratna" of India or the true "Son of Mother India".
